Delhi Will Have Five Mega Labs for Pathological Examinations by End of 2015
The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi had earmarked Rs. 125 crore for opening 1,000 neighborhood clinics in the budget presented last month. Health Minister Satyendra Jain has revealed that Delhi will have five mega labs for pathological examinations by the end of this year. The minister also informed that Delhi's first neighborhood clinic will start functioning by next week in east Delhi.
Jain, who visited the clinic with Deputy Chief Minster Manish Sisodia, said, "The first neighborhood clinic would be ready by next week in Peeragarhi in east Delhi. The government is trying to set up neighborhood clinics in slum areas, unauthorized colonies and villages. The health department is aiming to improve services and reduce pressure on OPDs of existing hospitals and dispensaries. These clinics will help help ease the burden on government hospitals."
