Delhi Air Pollution Levels Reach to "Hazardous" Category of World Air Quality Index
Poor air quality and a thick haze covered the whole city of Delhi which is said to continue for few more days. Recently the World Health Organization has reported that Delhi is the most polluted city in the world.
The national capital recorded high amounts of suspended particulate matter where the average levels of PM 2.5 was 157 microgram per cubic meter and PM 10 was 264 microgram per cubic meter.

The normal limits of PM 2.5 and PM 10 is 60 and 100 microgram per cubic meter respectively. The current rate of particulate matter is relatively high when compare to the normal levels. These figures are a round up from 10 stations across the capital by the SAFAR (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research).

"The minimum as well as the maximum temperature has come down considerably. These coupled with moisture and lack of wind have made the particles stagnant. The situation may worsen during diwali," said an official.

Likewise in Gurgaon the PM 2.5 and PM 10 were 252 and 258 microgram per cubic meter respectively and in Noida it was 269 and 259 respectively. The air quality of Anand Vihar was recorded to at "hazardous" category of World Air Quality Index. The PM 2.5 was 199 and PM 10 was 503 microgram per cubic meter.
