David Schwimmer Warns Women Against Binge Drinking

by VR Sreeraman on Aug 16 2007 3:58 PM

American actor David Schwimmer has launched a passionate plea to caution women against the dangers of binge drinking, including rape.

The former 'Friends,' who is a director and spokesperson for the Rape Treatment Center in Los Angeles, started feeling for the cause after a female friend of his was sexually attacked in an inebriated state.

And the 40-year-old fears that the rate of rape will only go up as more and more girls find it okay to over-indulge on alcohol while partying.

'It worries me that so many girls go out binge drinking, then lose all sense of what they're doing and who they're with. I'm all for going out, getting drunk with friends and having great sex in a consensual situation, but you have to know where to draw the line,' Contactmusic quoted him, as telling Cosmopolitan magazine.

'I'm a man and I know men go out looking for sex, which is OK, but it's not OK to have sex against someone's will or to abuse someone who's under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If I had a daughter today, I'd be worried,' he added.
