CRPF to Launch Anti-Drug Awareness Drive

The Northern Sector of CRPF has joined hands with social organizations in order to launch an awareness drive, involving various events and activities at India Gate, on the occasion of 'International Day Against Drug Abuse' to promote the cause of a drug-free society.

Amongst various events and activities planned to be conducted in collaboration with "Health Fitness Trust", 'Slogan March' and '3 KMs Run' will be quite prominent which are likely to be attended by people from various ages/streams of society having a vision and goal to create a society, free from drug abuse.

The event will also be providing a platform to children of different categories to showcase their talent and exhibit concern against the drug abuse through an art and drawing competition. 20 handmade posters selected by a distinguished jury will be displayed at the expo counter at India Gate.

The event will be graced by the presence of various dignitaries. CRPF by virtue of its large presence in Delhi and its sheer commitment to various social initiatives will be associating itself with the successful conduct of the events by promoting participation of its officers, men and school children of the CRPF schools in various parts of Delhi, besides providing due logistic support.

The event will also witness the display of CRPF band, including 'Mahila band' to provide rhythmic beats to the spirit of the occasion and message of millions against ever pervading menace of drug abuse.

CRPF will also be carrying the message and awareness drive to remote locations which are quite vulnerable to this menace like Bawana, Jharodakalan etc. covering general public as well as CRPF personnel and their families by displaying and distributing banners, placards and leaflets on the subject and organizing 'nukkad naatak', movie shows.

Lecture and counseling by specialist doctors and counselors against drug abuse is also being conducted.
