Chinese Using Cigarette Butts as Anti-Pollution Devices
With the level of smog in the country rising to record levels, the Chinese are resorting to desperate means, including using cigarette butts as anti-pollution devices.
A Chinese social network website, Sina Weibo, got responses from the citizens that they are desperate enough to stick cigarette butts up their nostrils on the chance that the filters will lessen the effects of the perpetual smog prevalent in the city from quite some time now, the Washington Times reports.

One user messaged "A magical fix for coping with the haze, take two cigarette filters, strip away the wrapping paper, and insert them in the nostrils," the report added.

The state media reported that doctors also believe this technique will definitely obstruct air entering the nasal cavity, and will affect normal breathing.
