The study also found that 10.3 per cent did not care to wash their hands while 22.8 per cent washed them, but with no soap. Only 5.3 per cent washed their hands for more than 15 seconds.

Our unwashed hands after using the toilet are a hotbed of germs and a potential route for disease setting in. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has brought out proper rules for cleaning hands perfectly and that includes washing both hands with soap and water by rubbing them together with pressure for at least 20 seconds.

In that respect, the fair sex was far cleaner. 15% of men did not wash their hands at all as compared to 7.1 per cent of women.
