Cannot Cuddle This Baby?

A rare skin condition has denied 18-month-old Anthony Brine, the basic human touch which we all crave for, a hug and a cuddle, as the child could break into painful blisters and bleeding if he is held.

This means his parents cannot hug him at all. He has been diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullosa, a genetic blistering condition and his condition is quite severe for which there is no cure yet.

Daniela, Anthony’s mother said, “It’s heartbreaking I can’t give my beautiful boy a cuddle. Shane won’t be able to play with him the way a normal big brother would. If Anthony knocks himself the skin peels away from the area and blisters form and just gets bigger and bigger until they are popped.”

Anthony gets painful blisters in his throat and eyes. Doctors have also warned that the boy runs a big risk of developing skin cancer in later life.
