Sharing a picture of her cake fight on Twitter, Sharon wrote, "We're proud to be a part of the #PinkArmy and support @raceforlife! You can join too http://po.st/QMRTHF."

In a statement Sharon said that she feels honored to be supporting Cancer Research UK's Race for Life again in 2016, adding that cancer has taken the lives of so many, but there is something they can do to help change the odds.

Her daughter Kelly, who was diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene in 2015, said watching her mother fighting the colon cancer has inspired her so much that she wants to contribute her bit to beat the disease.
