If you are too pressed for time to drink a cup of coffee for your daily caffeine fix, then Harvard undergraduate Ben Yu and Venture Capitalist Deven Soni may have come out with a perfect product that may make drinking coffee a thing of the past.
The Spray Energy is a spray bottle through which your body can literally absorb caffeine. The bottle contains water, caffeine and an amino acid which is then sprayed on your neck or wrists. Four sprays from the bottle can provide the same amount of caffeine that you can get from a small cup of coffee and the amino acid helps your body to absorb the mixture.
Since it is being directly absorbed by the skin, opting for this mode of caffeine delivery provides less of a jolt and fewer lingering jitters compared to drinking a cup of coffee.
Soni admitted that while there may be attempts to abuse the spray on energy, the body's make up can act as a natural limiter as the skin's absorbing abilities has a saturation point. "We definitely recommend four or five sprays, and no more than 20 per day. Skin has a saturation point, and there are only a few places on the body with the concentration of blood vessels where the product will work best. We're not trying to augment behavior, just to make it easier to get what you want", he said.
