“Brown Fat” Tissue may be New Weapon to Fight Against the Flab
A new study published in the journal Endocrinology reveals that a group of Australian scientists have developed a “brown fat” tissue that could be used in future to burn away the excess fat in the body.
According to researchers at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, the excess fat in the body is basically “white fat” which is an organ for energy storage.

Around 50gms of this white fat can store up to 300 kilocalories of energy which can be used up by introducing the same amount of brown fat.

“Regardless of whether or not someone has lots of or little brown fat, the precursor cells are universally present. Under the appropriate growth factor and hormonal stimulation, the cells all grow and differentiate into mature brown fat cells”, lead researcher Dr Paul Lee said.
