Britney Cleared Off Drugs and Alcohol Tests

Britney Spears’ fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the former teen-icon has reportedly been tested clear of illegal drugs and alcohol during her recent two-night hospital stay.

It has been revealed by a source that the ‘Toxic’ singer tested negative of drugs and alcohol.

"She tested clean. This lady is as clean as clean can be, and has been for some time,” People quoted the source, a saying.

The 26-year-old was taken to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a stand-off with police when she refused to hand over her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline after a scheduled visit to her Beverly Hills mansion.

The source also slammed rumours that the pop star threatened suicide during the four-hour standoff at her Studio City home and claimed that such rumors were "bull----."

Spears was hospitalized early morning of Jan. 4 under California's "5150 Hold," in which she was believed to be a danger to herself or others and could be held for 72 hours for evaluation.

On the basis of officers' observations at the scene, police said she appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown substance."

Meanwhile, another rumour is put to rest as a source has revealed that Britney did not have a gun when she took hostages of her two children during the stand off with emergency services at her home.

It was speculated that Spears threatened to harm herself as well as kids Sean Preston and Jayden James during the incident.

However, it has been confirmed now that the star was not in possession of a lethal weapon at the time.

"There was no gun involved - that's the first we've heard of this.

The police were called out to Britney Spears' residence to investigate custody issues over her children - not because there was a gun in the house,” a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department told celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
