British Ebola Patient Flown Back Home from Sierra Leone
A female British military healthcare worker who contracted Ebola was flown back from Sierra Leone. A Royal Air Force plane was sent to the west African country on Wednesday to bring the Ebola victim back for treatment in London’s Royal Free Hospital, informed the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
This military servicewoman is the third Briton to contract the virus in Sierra Leone. Previously, two nurses- William Pooley and Pauline Cafferkey, recovered after being treated in Britain.

Britain has focused its aid efforts on its former colony, Sierra Leone. Up to 700 British military personnel have been deployed along with numerous civilian medical staff. "Despite there being stringent procedures and controls in place to safeguard UK service personnel, there is always a level of risk in deployments on operations of this type," said the MoD spokeswoman.
