Brit Mum With Rare Amnesia That Makes Her Believe She is a Teen
A 34-year old British mother suffered from a rare form of amnesia that made her believe that she was a 15-year old schoolgirl living in 1992 and was about to sit for her GCSE exams.
Naomi Jacobs suffered from a form of amnesia known as Transient Global Amnesia in which the patient suffers from memory loss due to stress. Around five in 100,000 people are affected by this condition with the prevalence increasing to 23 in 100,000 among those over 50 years of age.

Ms Jacobs revealed that she was shocked when she saw her reflection and got hysterical after her 11-year old son started calling her mum. She then called up her best friend who, along with her sister, helped her to get her life back on track.

“My best friend and my sister had to sit me down and painstakingly explain 9/11, 7/7 and the war on terror. Facebook, Google and YouTube sounded like they were completely made up. The first time I saw Leo play on his X-box and interact with the TV, I was so shocked I spat out my tea”, she said.
