A 37-year-old woman from Kasaragod district, Kerala who was declared brain dead following a road accident gifted life to four patients by donating the organs.
The deceased’s family members consented to donate the organs - two kidneys, liver, and heart. The organs were harvested from Pariyaram medical college and transplanted successfully to patients at Aster MIMS.

The heart was transplanted to a 27-year-old man from Iringannur, Kozhikode. He was suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy for a decade.

This organ was harvested by cardiovascular and thoracic Surgeon Dr Anil Jose and transplanted by a team led by senior cardiovascular and thoracic Surgeon Dr Murali P Vettath.

The liver was transplanted to a 51-year-old man from Malappuram district. The kidney transplants were done by urologist Dr R Krishnamohan. One kidney was transplanted to a 25-year-old female patient from Koyilandy and another one to a 51-year-old female from Vadakara.

Police officials created a green corridor in Kannur and Kozhikode. Two separate ambulances carrying the harvested organs took only one hour and forty minutes to reach Calicut by road.
