New research has pointed out that one out of 12 patients is back in the hospital after a month of being discharged.
 Better Strategies Needed to Reduce the Rate of Re-admission of Patients After Discharge from Hospital

The most common reasons for this hover around infection post surgery, pain, and sometimes problems with the heart.

Though it is not possible to prevent all readmissions, hospitals are now working on strategies to help with infection control and increase awareness of patients in recovering well.

This may be good to reduce the number of patients returning to hospitals as well as reduce healthcare costs.
