The baby boy, which was delivered at the hospital on Tuesday, went missing shortly after its mother, Jasmine Naik, stepped out of her ward for a short walk.

"This is the worst hospital and I can never forgive myself. It was a wrong decision to bring my wife here for the delivery", a television channel quoted Devdas Naik, the father of the baby, as saying.

Mumbai Police have released a sketch based on the description of an eyewitness present at the scene.

According to him, a dark complexioned woman aged around 25 and wearing an orange dotted saree, took the child away.

A case of kidnapping has been registered against an unknown woman.
