Apollo Hospitals Group subsidiary Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited (AHLL) relaunched its acquisition Nova Specialty Hospitals as multi-specialty Apollo Spectra Hospitals. The new brand from Apollo Group is also planning to set up five centers of excellence in orthopedics, obesity, urology, MIS and ENT.

Apollo Hospitals performed rare heart surgery among 100 children with a complex heart condition through Save a Child's Heart (SACH).

AHLL acquired Nova Specialty Hospitals six months ago for a consideration of Rs.140 crore and spent around Rs.8 crore to upgrade the hospitals to relaunch them as ’Boutique’ hospitals under Apollo Spectra brand, Diggikar said.

"A clutter-free environment is provided to a patient unlike a huge hospital where hundreds of patients pour in. It is very neat and clean environment. We are not intending this to be a large hospital where anybody and everybody is coming in," Diggikar elaborated about terming the Apollo Spectra Hospitals as ’Boutique’ hospitals.

The value of Apollo Spectra Hospitals current operations is around Rs.100 crore. We plan to achieve business operations worth Rs.500 crore in five years’ time, Diggikar added.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu complimented the Apollo Group for developing their network of hospitals in far-away towns as well.

Currently, the multi-specialty Apollo Spectra Hospitals -- formerly Nova Specialty hospitals -- exist in seven cities -- Delhi, Jaipur, Kanpur, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai.

By the end of 2015, AHLL plans to open 11 Apollo Spectra Hospitals across the country while a proposed Apollo Spectra Hospital in Hyderabad would begin operations in October 2015 and one in Gwalior in another six months, Diggikar added.
