Andhra Pradesh Government to Sell Red Sander Powder for Facials and Skin Treatment

The government of Andhra Pradesh (AP), a state in India, has decided to sell red sanders powder as an aid for facials.

Following the footsteps of the Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC), which has been selling red sander powder for facial packs and other skin treatment medicines, the government has asked its forest department to come up with similar products.

Authorities confirmed that the government had given instructions to the corporation regarding the sale of red sanders powder for facial and for pharma uses. “Instructions were given to the corporation regarding the use of red sanders powder for facial and pharma uses. The existing law doesn’t prevent their sale. Kerala has got some allotments from AP and they are selling it,” said A.V. Joseph, the state principal chief conservator of forests.

Official of KFDC said that red sanders facial is very popular and is sold, along with sandalwood, in all outlets of KFDC and particularly at tourist spots like Munnar. “Red sanders powder facial will help in removing scars on the face and treat pimples and also enrich beauty," they said.
