AliveCor is coming out with a new iPhone cover and app that can be used to convert your phone into a portable ECG machine and upload and share the readings with your cardiologist.

The cover will be available for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S and readings can be taken either by placing the iPhone on your chest or placing the thumbs on the two sensors for a period of 30 seconds.

The readings are then uploaded to AliveCor's cloud storage service and can be downloaded and analyzed by a medical professional.
