AdvertisementThe case history dates back to 2010 when Aditi Negi, 28, died after giving birth to a son at the private hospital. Her father, Nainital-based Jagdish Bisht later filed a case against the hospital chairman citing medical negligence. Aditi's father alleged that doctors and staff were negligent towards his daughter and nurses did not have certified documents to do the job.
Investigations revealed that the hospital lacked basic facilities to deal with emergency cases. The medical facility was devoid of equipment in the operation theatre, team of experts and trained nursing staff.
The owners of the hospital have a four-bed hospital in Nainital, while bigger hospitals with better facilities are located in Rudrapur and Udham Singh Nagar district.
