Health experts have warned that hitting on the groin or the so-called "sack tapping" of a friend by schoolchildren can actually lead to serious injury.

Urologist Dr. Scott Wheeler said that he has treated many ruptured testicles and that this fad is getting out of hand. "It's just gotten way out of control," the New York Daily News quoted him as telling KARE11.com, a Minneapolis TV station. "All parents, you need to have this talk with your kids not to do it. It's lost its humor."

David Gibbons of Minnesota has had a bad experience with sack tapping after he had to get his right testicle removed following a punch in the groin by his school mate. Gibbons’ mother, Christy agreed that this incident proved sack tapping is not a game, "I've seen the pain he was in. I've seen what he went through every day, and it just breaks my heart and I don't want any other child to have to go through this."

David is now moving to a different school district, while his old school is investigating the incident.
