Will Oz Men Make It to the Bedroom This Valentine's Day?

by Hannah Punitha on Feb 8 2009 5:53 PM

This Valentine's Day men Down Under are not worrying about what flowers or gifts to pick, but are tensed over whether they're going to be able to bring love to the bedroom.

According to Impotence Australia, a pharmaceutical company sponsored impotence organisation, it will receive a 20 per cent boost in calls to its support line in the lead-up and aftermath of the most romantic day of the year.

The organisation's chief executive Brett McCann said Valentine's Day brings to the fore the problems many men have with sexual performance.

Some people feel that their difficulties with sexual performance are stopping them from getting into a relationship and for others it highlights what's missing from their relationship, the Courier Mail quoted him, as saying.

Thanks to the pressure surrounding Valentine's Day, the D-day could make things worse for men if their performance issues were psychological, rather than physical.

However, the focus on romance may be a good thing as it can push people to seek help.

Whatever the trigger is, be it Valentine's Day or something else, if it gets them to ask for help then that is great, McCann said.

Sexual problems are extremely common and people don't have to live with these difficulties, both psychological and physical issues can be treated, he added.

Impotence Australia receives about 200 calls each week but that will jump next week as people's thoughts turn to love.
