Wife Mariah Carey Confirms Nick Cannon’s 'Good Spirits' Even With Kidney Failure

Mariah Carey admitted her husband Nick Cannon is 'in a lot of pain' following a mild kidney failure yet remains in 'good spirits'. The 'America's Got Talent' host is staying optimistic even after beginning the New Year in a hospital bed.

"As always, he's in good spirits considering the situation," Carey told People.

Cannon, 31, was hospitalized after a mild kidney failure during a holiday getaway in Aspen, Colo., but he was moved to an L.A. hospital late Wednesday afternoon, New York Daily News reported.

Carey, 41, who gave birth to the couple's twins in April this year, was constantly by her husband's side.

"Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," she tweeted.

But though Cannon is presently "in a lot of pain," Carey is staying positive too.

"We are hopeful that he'll be 100 percent as soon as possible," she added.
