Experts say yes - the trick is to reduce intake of sugar and fat instead of totally abandoning them. "Lots of people can lose weight, but they can't keep it off. When people try and repeatedly fail, they begin to feel defeated and will eventually give up." Even if you need to lose a lot of weight, it is better physically and psychologically to maintain a smaller weight loss than to continually yo-yo," Dr. James O. Hill, director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Colorado told MSN Health.
Experts also say the best thing is to set small goals instead of looking for bigger things in lesser time. For example losing 25 pounds in 5 weeks is unrealistic and even if you manage to do it, the lost weight will be back sooner or later.
