While the latest fad of walking on water enclosed in a bubble has proved to be a hit in the United States, a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report has said that the few minutes of fun could prove to be fatal.
Over 1,000 such bubbles have popped up across the parks in the US which allows people to walk on water or other surfaces. The bubbles are nothing but plastic containers in which air is blown through a zipper.
AdvertisementHowever the safety report has warned that people face a serious risk of losing their lives through either suffocation or through drowning. The CPSC said that the inability to open the bubble from the inside and the lack of any emergency exit means that people inside the bubble are unable to come out when faced with any problems.
"CPSC is warning consumers that there is a combination of risks associated with this product, including the potential for suffocation, as well as the potential for drowning and impact injuries. Because the ball is airtight, an inadequate air supply can result when oxygen is depleted and carbon dioxide accumulates inside the ball. Such a dangerous scenario can occur in as little as a few minutes", the report warned.
