Vulgar Online Game Promotions to be Banned in China

In yet another instance of cracking down on the Internet, China has urged intensified management of promotion tactics of online games to prevent vulgarity from being used to gain online subscribers.

The Ministry of Culture told cultural administrative agencies around China to strengthen online supervision in a written notice.

Computer- related injury (CRI) is a cluster of work-related symptoms in computer users such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), Work Related Upper Limb Disorder (WRULD), and Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD)

And if vulgar content is found in online game promotions, the administrative agencies should inform websites to immediately delete them.

Appropriate punishment should be imposed in cases of serious violation of laws, the notice said, reports Xinhua.

The notice was issued to end the increasing practice of some online gaming companies who took advantage of some women involved in scandals of pornographic pictures to promote their games.
