UAE Refuses Entry to Ship Carrying Goat and Sheep
A ship carrying around 950 sheep and goat from India was refused entry into the United Arab Emirates following fears that the shipment was infected with foot and mouth disease.

Following information received from veterinary quarantine officers in Kuwait, the UAE customs authorities blocked entry of the ship at Ras Al Khaimah and the health officials also passed order to all border ports to not unload the shipment.

"All UAE borders have been notified not to allow the entry of the shipment into the country to safeguard the health of the livestock in the country", said Sultan Abdullah Alwan who is the Executive Director for the Agricultural and Animal Affairs.
