UAE Bans Live Livestock Import from Britain
The United Arab Emirates has imposed a temporary ban on import of all live cloven-hoofed animals and their products from Britain following cases of the foot and mouth disease there.

The agriculture ministry's animals wealth department has been asked to coordinate efforts with other authorities to put the ban in place, according to news agency WAM.

The European Commission Monday banned exports of meat, milk and animals from Britain as investigation continued into the source of the first foot and mouth outbreak, discovered Friday at a farm near Guildford.
