Dede Koswara also called the "Tree Man" because of bark-like growths all over his body, may have a chance of surviving after doctors removed 2 kg of warts from his body.

Dede's life became horrible after warts began spreading all over his body. The growths started as a small wart on his leg when he was a teenager. As the growth spread, Dede lost his job and what is more his wife left him.

Dede lives with his parents and is currently in a Bandung hospital near Jakarta where doctors have been working away on the growths. Doctors say a defect in his immune system allowed the human papilloma virus to spread all over causing warts.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Dede said he was hopeful of getting better, “What I really want first is to get better and find a job,” he added. “But then, one day, who knows? I might meet a girl and get married.”
