Hospital authorities have allayed fears of patients and their families and have started preventive medication and tuberculosis screening for those at risk.

Special care is being taken for all those babies who were in contact with the worker. The immediate family members of the infants as well as colleagues of the worker are also under the scanner to spot any sign of infection.

There should be a yearly screening for TB infection. This could be done using an X-ray. As health workers, it is their responsibility to take good care of themselves to set good examples for their patients.
