Survey Says One in Four People Work All Day Without Break
Nearly 25 percent of employees in Britain work throughout the day without any breaks, leading to increased stress and fatigue, a new survey reveals.
Researchers from Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) polled more than 3,000 employees and found that one in four took no break during their working hours while nearly 50 percent of them admitted going to work even when they are not well.

Almost all of those who were polled said they suffered from stress with one of the major reasons given out for overworking was staff shortages. The major complaint from all of those who were polled was physical pain experienced by working in the same position for long periods at a time.

Warning that overwork could prove to be a major danger for both the mental and physical well being of workers, CSP chairman, Ann Green said “Work is good for us and can contribute to our physical and mental well-being - but not when overworking means people don't have the time or energy to look after their own health or when staff are at work but not fit for work.”
