More than one in ten dentists in the UK are earning more than the Prime Minister - and hundreds are taking home more than 300,000 pounds, new research has indicated.

The number of dentists smashing through the 300,000 pounds barrier has gone up by 10 per cent in the past year as their pay continues to soar on the back of 'botched' contracts.

A total of 410 now earn above 300,000 pounds, while 2,410 are on more than 150,000 pounds. David Cameron's salary is 142,500 pounds, reports the Daily Mail.

Campaigners say the rise is 'unjustified, particularly during a time of drastic NHS cuts with thousands of doctors and nurses' posts at risk.

Dentists are upping their salaries by carrying out more complicated treatments such as canal surgery, figures show.

I think we should not feel bad that Dentists are able earn good money. Only thing the fees charged should be reasonable and affordable. In different countries, they have different Doctor charges and treatment charges. This may not be true in the case of India. I don't think, in India even the most brilliant dental surgeon would be able earn that much money. In life certain things are to be viewed in different percepton. Let the Dental surgeons earn more and more in rich countries with rich patients but in poor countries they must do noble service for poor patients.
