Surgeon Operates on Already Removed Organ
A surgeon in New Zealand has been accused of negligent and apathetic handling of a lady patient, mistakenly operated for the removal of her already removed gall bladder.
Shockingly, she had undergone the very same surgery 13 years ago and obviously did not have the organ at the time of the recent surgery.

Apparently, when the woman consulted with the doctor, she was unable to clearly communicate to the surgeon about her past surgeries.

A CT scan was sent to the surgeon which showed the absence of the gall bladder. The surgeon had misplaced this important scan and failed to register vital details provided by the patient.

The surgeon discovered his folly during the operation.

The health council has accused the surgeon of not getting the complete information about the patient’s medical history. He had not bothered to make an adequate assessment of her condition before the operation and did not provide the patient with the complete information before she consented for the surgery.
