The stress was not related to normal work stressors or the pressures of running a family but the type of stress associated with domestic abuse.

Such children are emotionally weak and are unable to cope with stressful situations later on in their life.

The ability to handle stress can get affected in children whose mothers were exposed to undue stress during their pregnancy and such children become over sensitive to stress.
