Research by Scientists at the University of Alberta has pointed out that it is good if patients exercise after a heart attack as they experience better outcomes.

Best results can be received if stable patients begin exercise one week after a heart attack.

Co-author Mark Haykowsky said: "While it's been shown that exercise has a favorable effect on heart function, it's also important to dispel the idea that what the heart needs is rest."
