'Sorry', a Common Word on Most Brits’ Lips

by Savitha C Muppala on Sep 14 2011 7:47 PM

A recent survey has revealed that the average Brit uses the word ‘sorry’ close to eight times in a day and almost 3,000 times a year. Some of them were apologetic more than 20 times in a day.
‘Sorry’ was found to be used in the workplace the most and then while shopping or when one is back home with the family, the survey revealed.

Many a time ‘sorry’ was used when there was no need to be apologetic– for instance when somebody stepped on their toes or bumped into them.

It appears that ‘sorry’ is used when there is nothing else to say!
