People who sleep on the left-side of a double bed lead a positive, happier and comparatively stress-free life, according to research by a hotel group Premier Inn.

25% people who were part of a survey said they had a bright outlook on life, compared to just 18% of people who sleep on the right side of the bed. 2/3rd of those who sleep on the left said they were calmer than their partner in a crisis. People who favor the left side have more confidence.

While people who sleep to the right tend to earn more, those who sleep on the left are happiest at work and were more likely to be in permanent employment and better at tackling heavy workload.

Spokeswoman for Premier Inn, Claire Haigh said, "The research clearly indicates a pattern between which side of the bed you sleep on and the mood you wake up in."
