While the world's leading beverage company, Pepsi Co is congratulating itself for coming up with another eye catching product, the "skinny" Diet Pepsi can, not many are impressed by the tagline that accompanies the can.
The Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo, Jill Beraud said that the new can celebrates women and that the design is in sync with the most stylish look of today's fashion.
"Diet Pepsi has a long history of celebrating women through iconic fashion imagery seen in our infamous and historical campaigns. Our slim, attractive new can is the perfect complement to today's most stylish looks", she said.
However Pepsi Co's opinion that confident equates to skinny has caught the ire of a number of critics including the National Eating Disorders Association which said that Pepsi's latest ad campaign is both thoughtless and irresponsible.
