Pop star Lily Allen was left heartbroken after she suffered a miscarriage.
The news was revealed in a statement by the pop star's rep.
"We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time," People quoted the rep, as saying in the statement.
The singer had a miscarriage after returning from a romantic holiday with boyfriend Simons.
A source said: "They are in a state of shock."
"They are surrounded by friends and family are offering support. It is a really difficult time for them," the source added.
The heartbroken singer was eagerly looking forward to her first child - and turned her back on her party lifestyle in order to be the perfect mum.
In December, the singer, 22, had confirmed her pregnancy with her boyfriend Simons, 37, of the electronic music duo the Chemical Brothers.
