Your kitchen with all its jazz may soon become redundant with a new gadget that could actually have dinner waiting for you when you walk through the door. The SuperChef - described as a one-pot cooker with several pre-programmed functions - can be set to prepare, for example, a steaming stew, pasta dish or a whole roast chicken.
The gadget has 11 cooking functions, which include steaming, frying and baking, as well as a special rice and pasta mode.
The SuperChef, which measures 15 by 11 by 11 inches, can be programmed up to 24 hours in advance.
And if you are still not quite ready to tuck in, the gadget automatically switches to "keep warm" mode when the food is ready.
"We have launched the SuperChef in response to customers looking for a space-saving, multi-purpose cooker," the Daily Mail quoted Matthew Canwell, Lakeland's buying director, as saying.
"It fries, it steams, it bakes, it slow cooks - it's amazing.
