Siemens Launches iScan for Hearing Aids

Siemens has introduced a better and faster version of its ear impression scanner, called the iScan.

The iScan is capable of digitizing ear impressions in 3D in a very short time.

The 3D impressions are extremely precise and can be displayed on the computer screen which can be sent to hearing aid manufacturers online, who can then tailor make the hearing aid to exactly suit the patient's ear canal.

The new iScan is slated to be ready by November 2011.
