Nowadays, everything is multi-purpose. And so are tyres. Yes, you read that right. Thanks to the new wheelie clever exercise programme, rubber tyres may help you immensely in your battle against the bulge!
The fitness programme has been launched by Gym chain LA Fitness, in collaboration with Continental Tyres.
The ten-step programme was created after it was found that the average Brit carries the weight of a tyre - 10kg or just over one-and-a-half stone - around their waistline.
The routine was also tried in Birmingham by Daily Star Sunday babes Alice Goodwin and Porchia, both 20, which encouraged many volunteers to burn some rubber with them.
"What a great way to work out. It's definitely going to catch on," the Daily Star quoted Antonio Alessandro, 50, as saying.
According to Alice, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, she did not take much time to whiz through the routine in Formula One fashion.
"You really can feel it round your waist. It was great fun," she said.
