Experts have revealed that adding oxygen bubbles to drinks could help avoid those splitting headaches after all-night drinking sessions.

Researchers at Chungnam National University in Korea found punters drinking the oxygenated alcohol sobered up about 30 minutes faster than those drinking normal alcohol.

Dr Kwang-il Kwon, who helped lead the study, suggested putting oxygen in the drink also caused fewer and less severe hangovers.

"The oxygen-enriched drink reduces blood alcohol concentrations faster than a normal beverage," the Sun quoted Kwon as saying.

"This could have both clinical and real-life significance, and may reduce alcohol-related accidents. The oxygen drink would allow people to become sober faster, and reduce the side-effects without a significant difference in the alcohol's effects," Kwon added.
