Research Recognizes Nine Types of Drinkers

There are nine different categories of heavy alcohol drinkers, a study carried out by Britain's Department of Health research with focus groups revealed.

The study, which was conducted as part of the government's new alcohol campaign, categorized heavy drinkers into nine different types including Depressed drinker, De-stress drinker, Re-bonding drinker, Conformist drinker, Community drinker, Boredom drinker, Macho drinker, Hedonistic drinker and Border dependents.

The government will carry out the campaign in the next few months which includes sending leaflets to more than 900,000 houses warning them about the risks of heavy drinking which could lead to cancer and liver disease.
