A high-powered committee (HPC) under the chairmanship of Union Home Secretary constituted by the Central Government is to review existing laws to prevent rapes in the country.
The committee would examine the issues relating to review of rape laws. The suggestions made by the high powered committee have been formulated into The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2010.
