A new study by Consumer Reports has warned that regular consumption of protein drinks may be harmful to health of consumers.
 Protein Drinks may Contain High Level of Heavy Metals

The study examined heavy metal content in popular protein shakes and found that many of them had high level of metals. The drinks that had high heavy metal content included EAS Myoplex Original Rich Dark Chocolate Shake, and two Muscle Milk powders - the Vanilla Crème and Chocolate.

The study examined 15 different protein powders and drinks and found that they could be poisonous if consumed daily.

Some of the heavy metal content that caused concern included arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead.
