"If I were a normal woman, I exercised and had a normal diet, if I were to have a glass of wine on a Friday, the risk is infinitesimally small," the Daily Express quoted Cathy Warwick, general secretary of the Royal College of Midwives as saying.

"If I were a teenager with lots of other risks, going out every night boozing and was having a small baby, then it will compound the risks," she added.
