Pacific Edge Buoyed by European Acceptance of Gastric Cancer Detection Patents
Patents for gastric cancer detection technology developed by biomedical company Pacific Edge have now been accepted in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the company has announced.
The company, which is based in Dunedin, New Zealand, already has technologies that are used for detecting bladder and colorectal cancer in the country.

Pacific Edge chief executive David Darling said that the company was hoping for wider acceptance of its patents in the coming 2 years, "These new technologies we are now commercializing enable early detection and better management of cancer and are expected to provide significant opportunities for the company, globally,” he added.

Pacific Edge said that the fact that Europe has accepted its patents underline the strong science on which the company’s cancer detection technologies are built.
