Owen Wilson's recent suicide attempt was not the first time he tried to take his life, claim reports.
The singer landed in hospital after slashing his wrists after a reported booze and drug binge at the end of August.
However, a source claim to the National Enquirer that this was not the first time he had tried to commit suicide, and that he had done so twice before.
"A good portion of his (Wilson's) life has been dedicated to fighting depression and addiction... This is the third time he's tried killing himself," Contactmusic quoted the source, as telling the tabloid.
However, the source also insists that it was not he break-up with former ladylove Kate Hudson that spurred Wilson's suicide bid, but his depression for not being able to come up with material for a friend's film project.
"Owen felt demoralised after letting down his pal," the source said.
The actor is, in the meanwhile, recuperating at home, after his release from the Cedars Sinai Medical Centre.
