Obesity costs the economy close to 58 billion dollars, a recent Federal Government Health report has revealed.
Obesity not only increases the risks of many lifestyle diseases like diabetes and heart disease, it also elevates the risk of falls. Obviously, this increases the risk of injury.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has said that the chances of falls, stumbles and tripping increase with obesity.
